The Portland Orchard Project (P.O.P)
P.O.P is a group of neighbors working together to create a sustainable
source of fresh fruit in their local community. We aim to provide an
abundance of nutritious substitutes for the people of Portland through
the creation of a community Orchard and Garden.
The Portland community is located in the Northwest corner of Louisville, KY. P.O.P hopes to repair the severed relationship between people and the earth as well as restore basic neighbor-to-neighbor relations lacking in the Portland community. Our hope is that this community effort can serve to alleviate economic distress as well as provide some good quality, fresh fruits and vegetables for residents in the Portland neighborhood.
